Information Department - What is Available
The Amos Library Information department features a reference collection of nearly 3,000 volumes focused on science, history and genealogy. Research stations are available to access online databases. Public internet and word processing computers are also available.

 

Genealogy/Local History Collection
The genealogy and local history collection contains over 2,000 volumes concentrated on Shelby and surrounding Ohio counties. Also available free of charge is the Ancestry Plus genealogical database, Federal census microfilm for selected counties 1790- 1930, the Roy E. Lacy manuscript collection, local history files and Shelby county newspapers from 1831 to the present.

Internet Research Assistance

The Amos Library is pleased to announce the availability of three new reference assistance projects that can be accessed by Ohioans via the Internet. The Know It Now program connects users with Ohio reference librarians 24 hours a day for real time research assistance.

 

Read This Now - www.ReadThisNow.org
The Read This Now program makes librarians available at any time of day or night for suggestions on outstanding books in any area or genre.

 

Homework Now - www.HomeworkNow.org
The Homework Now program operates from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. every day connecting students to online tutors in Ohio libraries for help with school assignments.
